The voice of Frozen’s Elsa Idina Menzel is to swap musicals for comedy as she’s set to star in her own sitcom called Happy Time.
Ellen DeGeneres has bagged the 43 year old to be the face of the new comedy she’ll be producing with her company A Very Good Production.
The comedy is about a celebrity who decides to stop pretending she’s happy all the time and has been written by Randi Barnes, who also wrote Legends Of Oz: Dorothy’s Return.
It’ll be a half hour show filmed on a single camera set up and is slated to be out this summer.
Idina is set to take to the stadium at the Super Bowl this weekend to sing the national anthem, capping off an amazing year which has seen her win an Oscar for Let It Go and star in Broadway musical If/When.
The 43 year old was recently slated on Twitter for a performance which saw her struggle to hit the high note in Let It Go. But the actress had a brilliant comeback which politely told her haters to do one:
