WWII-Era Planes Mark 70th V-E Day Anniversary

By webdesk@voanews.com (George Putic) More than 50 restored World War Two-era warplanes will fly at noon Friday over the National WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C., marking the 70th anniversary of the end of the conflict in Europe. Aircraft ranging from P-40 Warhawks and P-51 Mustangs to the legendary B-17 Flying Fortress and other bombers will take part. The “Arsenal of Democracy — World War Two Victory Flyover” is expected to last about 40 minutes.
